10th. Goreme Local Food Contest (Forgotten Flavours of Goreme)

The fascinating village of Goreme hosts a food festival on the last week of September. Highlighting traditional Cappadocian cooking, it's a wonderful insight into local culture and a fun day for all.

The fest is organized by Göreme Municipality, and is done to enhance the unity and cooperation within the public, to make our natural beauties and heritages known, and to make our lost and forgotten values apparent.

There are 2 main purposes why this Food Festival is organized; the first is to introduce the forgotten Cappadocian food to local people; which is not well known by the new generations and second is organic farming. People are now caring more and more for natural nutrition.
