In 2004, the hotel owner started his own fresh produce farm, to supply his guests at his hotels with organically grown fruits and vegetables and provides jobs for 10 to 15 people.
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
In 2004, the hotel owner Yusuf YIGITOGLU started his own fresh produce farm called Fatma Sultan , to supply his guests at his two hotels with organically grown fruits and vegetables. Not only does the farm produce organic food to hotel guests, but it also provides jobs for 10 to 15 people of ortahisar village where its located.
All produce from the hotel owned farm is consumed by the guests of the two hotels operated by his owner, and is not sold for the commercial purposes.
The farm is 100,000 square metres with a private well on the premises which all water for agriculture is supplied. Grapes, Apples, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Onions, Apricots and Salad Greens are some of the major corps grown here throughout the year.
